Rose McDowell [sic], 25, shot to fame this year as one half of the outrageously dressed duo, Strawberry Switchblade.
Her Christmas tree outfits and lurid make-up branded her one of the wild girls of pop.
But her everyday image is very different. She doesn’t smoke, is a vegetarian and prefers mineral water to alcohol.
She is still with Drew, the boy she married at 18. They live in a London flat with their six-year-old daughter, Keri.
Drew and I met at a punk disco. I think I got married so young because I was a real romantic. I fancied a big white dress and it seemed like fun at the time.
The reality was that Keri was born a year later and we were all living in one room at Drew’s dad’s house in Glasgow.
Success meant a big upheaval. But Drew and I stayed best friends. We still live a quiet life and don’t go out very much.
I believe it’s fine for people to live together if they don’t want to get married. The main thing is to be able to trust each other.’
