Rose and Jill on guitars, vocals and xylophone, with a drum machine, and James Kirk from Orange Juice on bass.
The David Jensen session was recorded 3 October 1982. The John Peel session was recorded the next day, 4 October 1982.
James Kirk was only credited on the Peel session but it’s notable that he’s rehearsing one from each – Trees and Flowers appeared on the Peel session, By The Sea on the Jensen one.

Jill’s two lalala demos of Let Her Go
Home tape of Jill Bryson practicing Let Her Go, singing ‘lalala’ for the vocal line as presumably it didn’t have proper lyrics yet.

Three unfinished songs, date unknown
Three unreleased songs recorded at home. These are very rough demos never intended for commercial release, but they nonetheless have plenty of the Strawberry Switchblade delicate melancholic beauty.
The first features Rose on guitar and voice, showing the song to Jill. The other two feature both of them, and have loads of the gorgeous trademark harmonies.
