BATMAN, THE STRAWBERRY-TINTED HERO!

TV regulars Strawberry Switchblade, otherwise known as Jill Bryson and Rose McDowall from Glasgow, aren’t afraid to name their idols. One dates from Mum’s era, the other from Grandma’s!

Says Jill: ‘We’re still starry-eyed enough to admit we have memories of our childhood heroes. Mine was actor Cary Grant’.

‘And mine,’ says Rose, ‘was Batman, a TV favourite in my mum’s era’.

Incidentally, the Switchblade girls never like to be compared to Bananarama. ‘We’re so far apart,’ says Rose. ‘We started out together, we began writing our own songs, and we can actually play our own instruments. It’s an unfair comparison’.
