STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE
Strawberry Switchblade
(Korova)
If you thought Strawberry Switchblade were one-hit wonders, a listen to their debut album will show you that there’s talent beneath the Alice’s Tea Party costumes.
Singer Rose McDowall and guitarist Jill Bryson have put faith in their ability to write engaging, sometimes haunting pop songs.
The brass and string arrangements are faintly reminiscent of early Beatles and there’s a simplicity and directness in their music – ‘Since Yesterday’ being a perfect example – that appeals.
