STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE:
Trees and Flowers
(92 Happy Customers)
So the Switchblades are worried that this single is ‘unrepresentative’. Well, for their sakes, let’s hope so. The polka-dotted Lene Lovich-esque girls cordonned together a host of names for their debut single, but to no avail.
Though the vocal is relatively strong, it’s pushed into too wimpy a song, too drifting a tune, and too ridiculous a lyric.
The combinations of that and the rather grating overall sound is a single both forgettable and facetious – like the clothes they wear, Strawberry Switchblade are too fussy and fancy to be the least bit practical… or practicable.
