Lighter pleasures are offered by Jill Bryson and Rose McDowall of Strawberry Switchblade with their eponymous album. Yet one shouldn’t be fooled by their china-doll image. Beneath the oddball waifishness there is a certain toughness. It might sound like bubblegum music – but it sticks.
